Laurel Kennedy

Level 5 High Performance Coach and National Trampoline Judge, Level 3 Double Mini Trampoline Coach, Level 1 Gymnastics Coach, Level 4 Cheerleading Coach

Laurel started off in Artistic gymnastics and moved into trampolining at the age of 12 years… by 14 she was in the National Squad. Achievements include 3rd Great Britain Nationals 1979 and 2nd Great Britain Nationals 1980. She gave up in this year and left trampolining for around 6 yrs, when she returned for exercise, she still competed along with her sister and brother … even entering and winning a Quad competition… At this time her heart lay in coaching and for the last 25 yrs she has dipped in and out of coaching, along with living in America and having two children, Jordan and Jessica. In late 2003, she returned to Flitecrew, the club she had helped start and name. She is keen to develop trampolining within the Sussex County, and to create a Club the children/parents and coaches are very proud of, and love to belong to. Laurel has recently brought Cheerleading into the Flitecrew armoury, haven taken course with her daughter Jordan, they both are qualified up to international level and are excited to see cheerleading take off!

Jordan Kennedy

Level 2 coach, County Judge, Level 4 Cheerleading coach

Jordan started walking at 7 months old and her mother, Laurel, knew she would be an athletic girl. She started gymnastics when she was 4 years old and eventually got to national level winning team gold and team bronze at national finals. She has always done trampolining from the age of 5 winning her first ever competiton, but when Jordan gave up gymnastics at 12 she started trampolining more seriously with her mother and head coach Laurel as her coach. Since then she is still currently a National level gymnast with 2 National titles and many national medals, she also placed 5th at the David Ward Hunt international with many other countries. Jordan is a role model to all the younger children in the club and is always eager to inspire and help. She became a judge at 15 years and expanded her coaching by taking the level 1 course at 16 years old.  Since then, Jordan has enrolled to taken her Level 2 coaching course and both Jordan and Laurel have taken many cheerleading courses have launched Flitecrew Infinity Cheer club which is the newest adventure Jordan is taking up!


Jessica Kennedy

Level 2 Cheerleading Coach

Jess started Trampolining at 4 years of age with her mum, joining Flitecrew. She competed in many competitions along the way, becoming Sussex & Regional Champion and won many teams events alongside her sister Jordan. As she grew up, whilst enjoying trampolining, Dance became her passion. Jess has been dancing for just under 10 years and teaching dance for just over 3 years. She has performed in a variety of shows in some of London’s most prestigious theatres and also Spain, Disneyland Paris and on a cruise around the Mediterranean. Jess helps with coaching and judging from time and time and headed up the whole Range and Conditioning programme, She is the lead coach for the FC Starlights Cheer Squad (Youth) and also a member of FC Infinity Cheer Squad. More recently, Jess helps to lead our Birthday Parties for both Cheer and Trampolining.

 Verity Bashford

Trainee coach, Level 2 assistant cheerleading coach

Verity started trampolining when she was 11 years old, after being a national gymnast and winning two national team medals Trampolining suited her perfectly. She has competed in numerous national and international competitions and in 2016 `Verity represented the South East at the Regional Team Final in Birmingham and won 1st place. She then went on to finish 2nd at the NDP national finals. Verity has been a member of the Range and Conditioning coaching team  has since taken up the junior cheerleading squad along side Corinna Towler and they have both become newly qualified Cheerleading coaches.



Corinna Towler

Trainee coach, Level 2 assistant cheerleading coach

Corinna first joined Flitecrew when she was 7 years old, later on Laurel spotted her talent and recommneded she try gymnastics. She temporarily left when she was 9 to train 23 hours a week of artistic gymnastics. After her gymnastics Corinna rejoined to proceed in her trampolining. From then on she has achieved titles such as Sussex Champion, Regional Team Final 1st place and NDP Level 5 National Champion in 2016. Corinna’s highlights would be competing at the Copper box olympic arena, the Olympic park, winning NDP National Champion and travelling toPortugal to attend the Algarve Gymcamps in Loule. She has recently completed the first cheerleading course with Jessica Kennedy and Verity Bashford to become qualified coaches! Corinna and Verity have just been given their own cheerleading group.
